Casna will seek re-election
He will seek a second term on the Kingston Board of Selectmen in 2013.
The new development comes less than 24 hours after David Kennedy, a member of the Finance Committee, announced his intentions to seek a seat on the selectmen.
“I would like to serve a second term,” Casna told KingstonJournal.com while confirming his intentions for next April yesterday evening.
Casna was first elected to the selectmen in 2010 and has served as the board’s chairman since May of this year.
It remains unclear whether Kennedy will be running against Casna for a 3-year term or for the soon to be vacant seat of Ron Gleason.
Gleason, who has a year remaining in his term, has announced he will resign effective April 15, 2013.
Kennedy remained silent following KingstonJournal.com inquiries regarding which seat he would seek saying, “I will call you when the time is right.”
This year, Casna was re-elected to the Board of Health, where he is also chairman, after scoring a 254-vote victory in a one-on-one match-up against challenger Toni Cushman.
