James Judge cleared
KINGSTON- James Judge, Kingston’s assistant assessor, has received word from the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission that he has been cleared of all wrongdoing following an anonymous complaint against him alleging conflict of interest.
“I’m all set…it doesn’t apply to me,” Judge told KingstonJournal.com today.
Yesterday, Judge had been contacted by Katherine Gallant, a senior investigator with the enforcement division of the State Ethics Commission. Gallant was inquiring into Judge’s collection of his assistant-assessor salary in conjunction with his Board of Assessors elected stipend of $800 a year.
Judge was granted “special municipal employee” status by the Kingston Selectmen on May 5th last year, allowing him to collect payment from two town positions simultaneously.
