Gray’s Beach gets a facelift with reopening of concession stand

IMG_5045GRAY’S BEACH- Kingston’s only beach has just received a pick-me-up as the Gray’s Beach concession stand, which has been out of operation for an extended period of time, is now back in business.

With its reopening, Ice Cream Shack Grill (pictured) becomes “the exclamation point on the recently remolded Gray’s Beach Park,” in the words of the concession stand’s newest operator, Brian Dennehy.

“It makes coming to Gray’s Beach so much more of an option,” Dennehy told the Journal as beachgoers strolled past. “We hope to become a staple in Kingston and the area.”

Ice Cream Shack Grill offers a variety of tasty treats from some of the freshest ice cream in the Northeast, to perfectly grilled up hot dogs, to homemade corn salsa.

Dennehy tells the Journal with pride that his ice cream comes from one of the most renowned creameries in the country, Sugar Maple Creamery in Pennsylvania.

The Ice Cream Shack Grill, along Gray’s Beach in Rocky Nook, will be open all summer–seven days a week–between the hours of 11am and 8pm.

Last week, The Ice Cream Shack Grill became the newest advertiser with the Journal and their banner ad is visible directly below the top stories on the front page.

The town should start using the Grays Beach common area for some public events; i.e. concerts, carnivals, etc. That would be sweet, but maybe the adjacent property owners are against that. 6-8pm Friday night summer concert series. Awesome.
