Disgraced former selectman and level 3 sex offender Richard P. Cretinon is once again rubbing shoulders with Kingston’s political elite and, according to multiple sources, is living in a school zone. also spotted Cretinon at the Winter Street property on Tuesday during the day and alone, working on the home’s exterior, Monday evening.

Cretinon, who is now 62, was serving his fourth term as a Kingston selectman when he resigned after being charged with raping a 14-year old boy in 2003.

Cretinon was convicted of rape by a jury in 2007 and sentenced to 5 years of state prison at Walpole.

Since being released in 2011, Cretinon has been re-arrested for providing a false address to the police.

After being asked where Cretinon lives, Casna said, “I don’t really know. I think he’s living with Muriel Boyce, where Anthony’s used to be.”

Boyce lives at 273 Pembroke Street, diagonally across from Silver Lake Regional High School.

Knocks on the door at the Boyce residence went unanswered on Wednesday afternoon.

Silver Lake’s principal, Richard Kelley, told that the high school has “a wonderful working relationship with the Kingston Police Department,” and he is confident that police will take the necessary steps to protect Silver Lake students.

UPDATE: The registry for sex offenders, as well as a poster of Cretinon in the high school’s main office, had listed Cretinon’s address as 89 Landing Road in Kingston. Since this article was published the “Level 3 Sex Offender – Detail Flyer” issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety has been updated to reflect 273 PEMBROKE ST KINGSTON MA 02364 as Cretinon’s current address.

Cretinon was reportedly evicted off of the Landing Road property by town officials after he was discovered dumping raw sewage.

If Cretinon is living with Boyce on Pembroke Street without reporting his address, he is in violation of his probation.

A pending bill on Beacon Hill would prohibit level 3 sex offenders from living within 500 feet of a school zone.

Casna acknowledged associating with Cretinon at his Winter Street property during a telephone conversation, but he denies that Cretinon is working for him or any of his companies.

“Let me ask you a question. If it snows and you’re shoveling your driveway, and I stop to help you, does that mean I’m working for you?” Casna said on Wednesday afternoon.

Casna claims that Cretinon stopped by his Winter Street property “just to chat” and called the construction site a “popular spot” amongst friends.

Casna then declined to comment further.

Sgt. Susan Munford, a selectman and a Kingston police officer, said that Casna’s association with Cretinon makes her “angry,” and said it seems to be the way some in Kingston have operated over the years.

“[Casna] is enabling Cretinon to violate the law if he’s letting him work there without reporting it…and it may not be Joe’s concern, but Cretinon should be very concerned,” Sgt. Munford said.

She continued saying, “Can Joe do what he’s doing? Yes he can. Is it appropriate? Not at all.”

Sgt. Munford added that Kingston Police are actively monitoring Cretinon’s whereabouts.

Level 3 sex offenders are the highest risk to the public and deemed likely to reoffend, according to the state’s office of public safety.

When asked how he believed Kingstonians would react to the news of his association with Cretinon, Casna replied, “How do I think Kingstonians would react? I don’t know. We’ll have to find out.”
