SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH: T-storms closing in on Plymouth County
TAUNTON- A line of severe thunderstorms is slicing through the central part of the state this afternoon, threatening Kingston with heavy rains and intense lightning by nightfall.
In advance of the approaching line of thunderstorms, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Taunton has issued a ‘severe thunderstorm watch’ for all of Plymouth County.
Tonight’s thunderstorms are unlikely to miss Kingston with heavy rains as the once scattered line of storms continues to coalesces into a solid mass of severe weather stretching from the North Shore of Massachusetts to Bristol, Connecticut moving east southeast.
This evening’s storms should pass rather quickly however, opening up to a clear night. The NWS’ severe thunderstorm watch expires at 9pm in Plymouth County.
A hazardous weather outlook has also been issued by the NWS for the entire week because of the possibility for additional severe weather from tomorrow until the weekend.
