Severe thunderstorms popping up in Southern New England, watches issued for Kingston
TAUNTON- A ‘severe-thunderstorm watch’ has been issued for Kingston—and all of Plymouth County–as severe thunderstorms begin popping up in Southern New England.
This week’s paralyzing heat wave is expected to come to an end this evening as a cold front sweeps through the region, igniting thunderstorms that may bring strong winds, torrential rains, frequent lightening and hail.
A developing line of severe storms, now in Northern Rhode Island, is currently on track to impact Kingston this afternoon, according to NWS radar.
The National Weather Service severe-thunderstorm watch, which is also in effect for 13 counties in 3 states, expires at 9 pm tonight.
