Severe weather warnings issued for Southeastern MA as remnants of Andrea pass area
TAUNTON- The remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea, still over the Coastal Plains of North Carolina, have prompted the issuing of severe weather warnings for Southeastern Massachusetts in anticipation of heavy rains and high winds.
Flooding from heavy rains has already been reported throughout New England in Greater Providence, New Bedford and Fall River, according to the National Weather Service in Taunton.
Kingston can expect an additional 2 inches of rain overnight tonight with winds picking up overnight. Gusts could exceed 50 MPH at times and a wind advisory is in effect until 10am tomorrow morning. A flood watch, which also encompasses Kingston, will also expire tomorrow morning at 10.
