Temps to reach near 60 by early next week
TAUNTON- Spring may be coming but it isn’t going to be without a fight against “Old Man Winter.”
Temperatures will gradually climb through the holiday weekend before the mercury maxes out near 60 degrees on Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Taunton.
After a brief taste of springtime, temperatures will plummet back into the mid-40’s on Tuesday, with nighttime temperatures falling well-below freezing. Winter-like temperatures will remain throughout next week until a gradual warming once again arrives in time for next weekend, according to the NWS.
Once the precipitation winds up tonight, dry air should hold in place through the weekend and into next week with no rain or snow in the foreseeable future, according to the NWS.
